Although the identity of this maker is unknown at this time, it bears a resemblance to pieces made in the Southeastern Alaska communities of Hoonah and Angoon. The adherence to just red, black, and blue-green paints on this pole connect it to classic Tlingit aesthetics and enhances its understated beauty.
