Although unsigned, this sculpture shows a mastery of carving that suggests to us that it is by the hand of Kiugak. Caribou by Osuitok and Lukta from the period are visibly different in style and there are numerous small details on this sculpture that could only have been done by someone with Kiugak's skill. We love how this piece is equal parts ungainly and elegant with the whole being utterly charming.Provenance
Collection of John & Joyce Price, Seattle, WA.
