Resplendent in its rainbow ombre colours, Arrival of The Spirit gives an interesting blend of repeated themes from Kenojuak Ashevak’s rolodex; the central face with its gently sweeping lines of facial tattoos smiles, providing a gentle, maternal feel. She is surrounded by a ring of radiating feathers or rays with colours that fade to lighter hues. She also has two escorts to the scene, a pair of birds that look to warn off anyone who should get too close. Their countenance is countered by the central face, as she warmly smiles at the viewer.
