Here, the scratched lines of the etching plate and the delicate blend of blues and whites from the aquatint give these bears a softer image. These two may well be stuffed toys with their blockier bodies and short, rounded ears, a hint of a smile on the bigger bear, as it stands on the snow.Provenance
