Arnasungaaq was a prolific artist working from the 1960s up until his death in 2017. In his decades long career, he produced a wide variety of subjects but focussed primarily on depictions of either people or muskoxen. Occasionally, Barnabus would explore the theme of shamanism and the spirit world. This wonderful bird / shaman transformation is from a high point in the artists career and we love the finely incised detail on the face and wings.
