This doll-like Standing Figure, signed by the artist’s husband John Tiktak, somewhat reflects the simplicity and abstraction characteristic of his celebrated works. However, Matee Atangak’s design distinguishes itself with an elongated body, straight arms seamlessly integrated into the torso, and column-like legs that enhance its streamlined form. The rounded head features minimal, incised facial details—small circular eyes, a nose, and a mouth. With its angular, geometric form and smooth, uniform texture, the figure’s striking simplicity captures a demure elegance..
