This lively sculpture captures a sense of movement that feels both deliberate and lighthearted. With his slightly asymmetrical posture and lifted leg, this fellow seems to be mid-dance, perhaps caught in the joy of a spontaneous jig, his weight shifting with the rhythm of some unheard music. The simplicity of the face is striking—two etched eyes and brows, a subtle mouth, and minimal lines—but within this sparseness lies a remarkable expressiveness. The little bloke exudes charm and the work is a celebration of both movement and character.
