Arviat produced a number of talented art making couples such as Luke Anowtalik & Mary Ayaq, and Luke & Joy Hallauk, but our sentimental favourite is Romeo & Martha Ikiperiak Eekerkik. Like the Anowtaliks and Hallauks, both husband and wife worked in a similar style however Martha was far less prolific than her contemporaries and, as such, her work is less well known. We love how Martha, much like her husband, experimented with combining diverse materials to create artworks which were totally unique.
