This composition captures a solitary figure hunched in focused labour, carving a caribou. The printmaker has chinked the stone block to mimic the fur on both the man’s clothing and the animal, each mark a careful act of translation. Stripped of background or context, the figure stands alone, a quiet monument to determination. There is no spectacle here. Only the quiet resolve of work, rendered with reverence. It is a compact, visual praise to persistence, process, and the dignity of work.
