Their very existence is a testament to the seamstress’s knowledge: of material, of environment, of what it takes to survive. These garments are not simply worn, they are maintained, tended to, made resilient through regular care. In the present work, a woman sits with steady focus, repairing a kamik in preparation for the challenges that lie ahead. Her expression is calm and concentrated. There is no drama here and in its way, it is a portrait of devotion to craft and to care.
