Originally from Nunavik, Ennutsiak often carved from a single block of stone, populating his compositions with multiple figures engaged in everyday labours, hunting, butchering, birthing, sewing. His works are dense with action and grounded in specificity.
Here, however, he offers something quieter: a single, self-contained figure. The absence of context feels intentional, almost generous. The composition invites us not to follow a fixed story, but to imagine one—to step into the scene and complete it ourselves.
