The carving is crisp and assured, with smooth contours and restrained incising that emphasize the elegance of each figure without overcrowding the surface. Inlaid abalone shell brings subtle flashes of colour to the otherwise monochromatic stone, highlighting key features like the eyes and gills. The result is a refined, contemporary expression of a longstanding sculptural form.
