Through his travels and speaking with animals, he heard of a supernatural woman who controlled the tides along the coast. If he could trick this woman into peeling back the ocean for him, then he could eat all the shellfish and crustaceans he wanted with ease, all without having to even get wet. Raven eventually found this woman, although she was hiding in a tide pool. Bothered by his pestering, the woman avoided and ignored Raven, but he was persistent. Finally resorting to harassing the woman by sticking sea-urchin spines into her buttocks, the woman relented and let the tides rise and fall each day. This allowed Raven to feast at his convenience, without barely a feather in the tide pools.Provenance
