The birds here are not representations of species but embodiments of possibility, rendered in bold lines and intricate patterns that twist and branch like thought made visible. Her signature style, part symmetry, part spontaneity, grounds the composition even as it lets the imagination lift off. In most editions of this print, vibrant blue dances alongside the rich, eggplant purple. But this version is different. Here, aubergine stands alone. The choice is not just aesthetic; it is a kind of restraint that sharpens attention. Without the distraction of multiple hues, the eye lingers on rhythm, on shape, on the spaces between wings and tails where silence gathers. It is not just rare, it is revelatory.
