Pat Dixon was a Haida carver from the Eagle Clan of Skidegate who worked almost exclusively in argillite. Active from the mid-1960s until his passing, he was heavily influenced by...Pat Dixon was a Haida carver from the Eagle Clan of Skidegate who worked almost exclusively in argillite. Active from the mid-1960s until his passing, he was heavily influenced by fellow Haida carver Patrick McGuire (1943-1970). Dixon was especially known for his argillite jewelry, model poles, and small dishes. The shape of this brooch alludes to a copper with a Raven shown in profile and a crosshatched background. The brooch is signed on the verso.
