Although best known for his iconic and elegant bird sculptures with upstretched wings, collectively referred to as Birds of Spring, Etungat produced a wide range of works portraying both humans and animals. While his bird carvings are delicate and svelte, his depictions of polar bears and people tend to be more corpulent. This charming walrus seems every bit as well nourished as it is well carved.Provenance
