Nobvak, like many sculptors from Naujaat (Repulse Bay), carved small-scale works primarily in stone, and her art is distinguished by its delicate craftsmanship. She played a pivotal role as a female carver in a predominantly male profession, and her influence extended meaningfully to her daughter Madeleine Isserkut Kringayak and granddaughters Martha Ulliyak Milortok and Simona Kringayark. This graceful bird, perched on a small base and carved from a challenging stone, exemplifies Nobvak’s skill as an artist.
