This model pole rises from a circular alder base into a slender shaft, its four stacked figures rendered in simplified, angular forms. At the summit perches an Eagle with a sharply hooked beak, its silhouette clean and commanding atop a platform. Below, a sequence of articulated Human, Frog, and Human figures are carved in shallow relief, their features defined by bold cuts and planes. Although unsigned and by an as-yet-unidentified artist, the pole was made by a carver active in producing works for the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop in Seattle during the first quarter of the 20th century, most likely from a local Coast Salish community.
