Birds of various types appear frequently throughout his long career, and here a father raven lectures the young ones. Strong black outlines frame colourful blocks of wings and bodies, while reds and yellow lines add division and dimension. The scene is at once both serious, with a lesson being taught and children dutifully listening, and amusing with its joyful colours, tie-wearing father, and gaggle of young listeners.
