Carved in dark stone with i vory details, the figures work together in a moment of shared purpose, their movements focused and deliberate. In place of the interior scene with removable igloo tops often found in other Kugluktuk works, this sculpture invites the viewer to witness collaboration. A caught seal lies at the centre of the scene as two figures bend over it, working together. Their shared task becomes a tender reminder that care, cooperation, and survival have always gone hand in hand, while a small dog lingers nearby, ever hopeful for a scrap or two.
Provenance
Collection of John and Joyce Price, Seattle.
