Ada Eyetoaq began carving in the early 1970s and rapidly became one of Qamani’tuaq’s (Baker Lake) most respected female carvers. She was included in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Although she explored several other artistic mediums, Eyetoaq’s stone depictions of the human form are among her most celebrated works. This powerful Bird Shaman is somewhat larger than most of Eyetoaq’s works, yet it still fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.
