    Chris:
This model whaling boat is carved with precision, its sleek baleen body carrying the smooth sheen of polished surface. The hull curves evenly, balanced to sit lightly in the hand, while the sail rises taut and dark, catching and bending light like skin in wind. Fine lashings hold mast and frame together, evoking the resourceful use of natural materials in full-scale boats. At the prow, the form extends into a pointed tip that suggests motion forward, the anticipation of sea travel and the hunt.
