Berry baskets like this one are usually smaller, and can often have a looser or more open weave than can be found in their more water-tight brethren. Their diminutive size makes for no less of a canvas to showcase a weaver's skill and design work however, especially at the hands of Isabel Rorick. Meticulously woven to allow patterns to repeat evenly across the entire basket, the subtle, pebbled weave is highlighted with darker dyed lines of horizontal ladder rungs, and topped with a raised rim. At only 3 inches tall, this basket is all the more stunning as a piece to marvel at in your hand. ProvenanceCollection of John & Joyce Price, Seattle.
