She would frequently translate memories into visual scenes for her work, as can be seen in Woman Watching Fish. Stenciled blocks of colour frame the textured boots and pants of a lone, smiling woman that sits at the water’s edge, a not-so-alone observer to some fish in the water. From behind, a pair of birds peer and stretch, possibly eyeing their lunch just as much as the woman is.Provenance
