Focused on celebrating the seasons, the larger baskets from the exhibition — a seaweed gathering basket for spring, a strawberry gathering basket for summer, a salal berry gathering basket for fall, and a clam gathering basket for winter — highlight the food that came with them and the ceremonies to thank the creator and spirits for the gathered ingredients and meals. Almost diminutive at 2.5" tall against its 13" companion Winter Basket, Winter Solstice (Snowflake Design Rattle Top Basket) is a miniature canvas for another aspect of the season: delicate, falling snowflakes. The calmness of the design of falling flakes can't help bring forth a smile like that of experiencing the first snow fall of the season.Provenance
