At...In Iceberg Lookout, the procession of hunters’ silhouettes advances along the sloped band in single file, their repeated forms and raised arms creating a clear sense of forward progression. At the upper right, a larger figure stands apart, braced on the incline, extending a long horizontal implement that echoes, and briefly interrupts, the dominant diagonal. The figures ascend between two expansive swaths of colour that feel icy in tone and soft at the edges, a mottled, watery surface that only stencil can seem to produce. In contrast to this diffuse blue, the figures and tools are rendered as crisp, high-contrast shapes in deep blue-black, with warm brown accents at the legs introduced through the stonecut technique.
