Indeed, many Kaviks seem immobile, fixed in both time and space. There are, of course, rare examples of figures with outstretched or upraised arms suggesting movement, but what we love about this wonderful Kavik is that it is somehow simultaneously motionless and frenetic. With its supernaturally long arms clasped together in a physiological response to conserve body heat, we sense that the figure is shivering. Were it not for the closed mouth, we would also hear the teeth chattering. Delightful!
