In this print, the lively hand-drawn texture of Lucy's original graphic survives beautifully in Eegyvudluk Pootoogook’s translation to stonecut, while a gentle, glowing palette moves softly through the plumage. Against that warmth, the sharply articulated wing tips and tail bring structure and snap. The result has all the charm one expects from Lucy, yet to our eye it also ranks among the strongest and most memorable of her avian images. It is little wonder, then, that it was marked with the distinctive title Lucy’s Owl.
