As this exuberant bird emerges from a lush arrangement of flowers and leaves, its form is integrated harmoniously with the surrounding foliage. The composition reflects Ashevak’s characteristic balance between structure and decoration: the bird’s shape is clearly defined, while the leaves and blossoms radiate outward, filling the page with rhythmic pattern and movement. Colour plays an important role in the work. Magenta was one of Ashevak’s favourite colours, and here it appears prominently. The artist pairs this vivid hue with complementary tones in the surrounding foliage and flowers, creating a lively visual contrast that animates the entire image.
