In Bleeding Loon, blocks of colour are surrounded and highlighted with almost calligraphic strokes of black and red, framing the various parts of the bird's anatomy. The Loon, bright eyed and head back, cries out as blood flows from a deep wound on its neck. As two spirits cry out in solidarity with the Loon's pain, there is a more tangible sense of the anguish coming from the paper.Provenance
