Held between darkness and illumination, James Jacko’s Untitled (Shaman with Bird Familiar in Fish-Filled Waters) shows a grey field, washed and speckled like moving water, with pale fish slipping around...Held between darkness and illumination, James Jacko’s Untitled (Shaman with Bird Familiar in Fish-Filled Waters) shows a grey field, washed and speckled like moving water, with pale fish slipping around the central figure as faint silhouettes. Against this, the shaman-bird form is sharply defined: black contour, bright yellow eye, bands of blue and green, and hot passages of orange and red. The line is fluid but controlled and nothing feels fixed.Provenance
