Much like his brother and father, Jimmy’s sculptural works give a nod to his observations of the local wildlife, and rather delicately so in the present example. Alighting Bird stands like a trophy, perched upon a stone base with wings spread triumphantly as it begins to take to the sky. Carved to be almost impossibly thin from the local Kinngait soapstone, this bird’s features almost defy the material they are made from.Provenance
