In Small Animals, three creatures, apparently an Arctic hare, a boldly striped wolf, and an Arctic fox, cross a broad field of bare paper with surprising independence. The wolf commands the centre, its brilliant bands of colour and elongated body giving it an almost theatrical presence, while the smaller animals skim and scurry at either side. Shifts in scale, direction, and colour keep the eye moving from one creature to the next. With only a few decisive contours and carefully chosen details, Anguhadluq gives each animal its own stance, speed, and sense of character.

Collection of John & Joyce Price, Seattle, WA.
