This lot is quintessential to her canon of work, as it has a presence in a room, both from its scale and the firm attendance of the beasts and spirits throughout the wool.
Stark in their contrast of dark light colours against the white wool, avian spirits hop and swirl around a central two-headed, two legged figure. It,along with its feathered companions, is highlighted and accessorized with zigzag-striped embroidery patterns in green, red, and yellow, adding further punches of colour. There is a level of joy that these figures have, making the whole scene of hybrid creatures humorous and lively rather than unsettling.
