Yuuyuuk, or Alaskan yo-yos, are a type of Indigenous toy that feature two weighted balls tethered to a central pin or clip, similar to a bola. The point of the game is to rapidly spin the two balls in opposite directions using the flick of your wrist and centripetal force. Each ball is attached to a different length of string or twine, which allows them to travel on their orbit without colliding into one other. This handsome yo-yo is unusual for being made of coiled grass basketry, rather than seal, bird, or caribou skin, which is more common.
