Overview
First Arts is pleased to present the exhibition Grit and Grace: Art from Qamani'tuaq and Arviat.
This exhibition highlights two of the Kivalliq region's artistic hub communities, Arviat (formerly known as Eskimo Point), the southernmost community in Nunavut, where the tundra meets the edge of the boreal forest, and Qamani’tuaq (Baker Lake), inland at the geographic heart of Canada and resting upon the shores of the eponymous Baker Lake. Both of these areas and their respective artistic giants evoke a style synonymous with the communities, delighting and fascinating collectors for generations.
