As with "Tuulliq Taanisiqtuq (Dancing Loon)," in "Iqalutsiavak (Beautiful Fish)," movement is pronounced and mastery of the figure has been attained. In the present print, the fish seems to be in a sinuous swim down the sheet, with every aspect of its form, the fins and ovate fronds, engaged in some turn or twist that adapts to the action.
In 2004, Kenojuak was commissioned to create a stained glass decoration for the John Bell Chapel at Appleby College in Oakville, Ontario. In The Iggaalaaq (Where the Light Shines Though) Window, the same contorting fish, seen here in Iqalutsiavak (Beautiful Fish), can be found in the window’s lower register.
