In 1976 Toronto artist K.M. Graham was invited to Kinngait (then Cape Dorset) to teach a seminar on the use of acrylic paints. While many locals participated, the two artist who were most influenced by the new medium were Kingmeata Etdlooie and Pudlo Pudlat. Pudlo would use diluted acrylics applied in a very painterly fashion for the rest of his career. This striking stonecut and stencil is one of very few Pudlo graphics which successfully mimic the master's skillful use of colour.
