With legs firmly planted and hands resting just beneath her chest, she radiates stillness and calm. The minimalist face, serene and abstracte, recalls the poetic reduction found in the work of Francis Kaluraq, to whom this sculpture could easily be attributed were it not for the identifying sticker. There is no sense of movement here, only gravity and permanence.
Provenance
Collection of John and Joyce Price, Seattle.
