Structured through a forceful vertical layering of image, text, and gesture, Buffalo Live Forever, Forever, Forever, Forever features saturated reds and pinks to establish a heated atmospheric field against which...Structured through a forceful vertical layering of image, text, and gesture, Buffalo Live Forever, Forever, Forever, Forever features saturated reds and pinks to establish a heated atmospheric field against which blackened animal forms of the titular creature emerge and dissolve. The repeated blue script, which gives the work its title, cuts across the surface with urgent insistence, while elsewhere drips, smears, and abrasions keep the composition unstable and active. The four affixed teeth in the lower third of the canvas quite literally break the picture plane, interrupting the painted surface with a stark material presence.
