In Owls Within, a frontal human figure is enveloped by six owls whose broad wings radiate outward to create a strongly symmetrical design. The repeated circular eyes establish a visual pattern, while the warm reds, oranges and blacks lend the composition both energy and balance. Rather than presenting the birds as separate subjects, Mikkigak integrates them into the figure itself, creating an image that invites reflection on the relationship between people and animals, a recurring theme in Inuit art.
