Shirley, through his Matchbox Gallery, encouraged many of the early ceramic artists to return to the craft and mentor a younger generation of Kangiqliniq artists. John Kurok is one of the most talented contemporary ceramicists, and his best works, like the present example, are meticulously crafted and visually striking.Provenance
