While his early works frequently drew on the "x-ray" style of Norval Morrisseau, Thomas made it his own with highly saturated colours and bold figures and spirits. Here, in Untitled (Fourth Day), a boldly outlined central figure looks skyward while sheltering a trio of creatures that are matching its gaze. Thomas's x-ray style shows itself once more, as all of this painting's occupants are segmented and lined with colour, ranging from subtle to bold. With only one creature barely rooted to the ground, there is an ethereal air to the composition as most begin to float upwards, surrounded by golden light.
