This basket is a mix of materials and weaving techniques, with contrasting red cedar and grass fibers. The different weaving techniques and materials have a visually arresting impact that make this basket fascinating to study from any angle. Another interesting feature is the presence of bright red dye, a colour that is ordinarily highly fugitive and heavily faded on baskets of this age. There are also repeating geometric patterns on the top of the lid, around the rim, and around the bottom of the basket.
